Welcome to Little Creeper Baits
Hello I am Benno Heune the crazy man behind Little Creeper Baits. Over 20 years ago I made my first soft plastic bait in response to conditions that I could not seem to find a bait for. Once my first bait was made I waited for those conditions to present themselves again. When they did I proceeded to destroy the fish population in this small lake. No other bait would work half as well. I was hooked and immediately saw the advantage in designing my own baits. Since that time I have been making baits for myself and friends. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to create many baits that have caught a lot of very nice fish, and have even won a few tournaments.
Most recently I worked with Maverick Worms here on Clearlake. I designed the BH Minnow, and the Bugly creature bait for Maverick. However I had been itching to make new baits that were different and pushed the envelope of what could be done with hand-poured baits. I recently decided to start my own company and move forward with designing a new line of baits. Unfortunately the money to start the company was not there. After talking with several people I was convinced I needed to move forward anyway and try to fund the start up by appealing to you; the fishermen. Details of how you can help and get more than you invest click on the Public Offering button.
Right now I have more ideas than resources to bring them to life. However I have been working on several new baits. Including two sizes of a realistic crawdad, a toad bait, a frog, a swimbait/fluke combination, and a representational creature bait, along with two baits for other companies that I will be able to talk about soon.
While I want Little Creepers' baits to look great, for me it's all about the action and how they fish. Since I much prefer super soft plastic, the challenge is to create baits that will last and fish very clean. The goal is to make the baits last as long as any other soft plastic, and fish clean enough that they only get torn up when eaten by fish. I have been fortunate to get some very good fisherman including: Mike Tuck, Jimmy Reese, Dee Thomas, and Don Osbourne, to fish and give feedback about the prototypes. Eventually Little Creeper will also inject some of the styles to bring them to a greater audience.
The intent behind Little Creeper is to create new soft plastics that look outstanding and fish even better. I will be blogging about the progress, and asking for your feedback as I go. Please check in regularly to see the progress and give me your opinion. Stay tuned and be a part of the project. I will be bringing you all new and deadly soft plastic baits very soon.
Benno.
